Right, let's get this over with, shall we?
MrM was right.
It was very high water in Venice.
A record flood in fact.
We needed wellies.
I shouldn't have argued.
Wellies are cool in Venice.
Even the gondoliers wear them.
Luckily, I was forced to take mine.
There, that wasn't so painful was it?
Water there and in NY and NJ in the States. Great photos. Thinking upon Little Dorrit as I looked at your photos. Have a wonderful trip!
ReplyDeleteOh my goodness! I hope you still had a good time :)
ReplyDeleteNo, not too painful. Worth it I'd say just to be able to take beautiful photos like the sixth one down with the stunning reflections.
ReplyDeleteMrsM's wellies were ubercool - if they passed muster for Port Eliot Festival then Venice was their natural next serious outing. Difficult to put wellies (stivali di gomma is an extension to my Italian vocabulary) into cabin baggage.
ReplyDeleteI don't think the young man in the last photo minded too much giving a lift by the way
Was he equally good at not crowing over his self-evident superior packing judgement?
ReplyDeleteThis is the way that conversation goes in my house:
ReplyDeleteMe: You were right.
Him: But more importantly?
Me: I was wrong.
I think it is very important not to make waves when one is right as therein lies ones comeuppance
ReplyDeleteOh you guys are so polite and sweet to eachother.
ReplyDeleteNothing else but "I told you so" and waving hands and blah blah blah would occur here ...
But we're Italians ... so there.
I thought of you a LOT while watching the news and pics of acqua alta ... sigh ...
Well done MrsM for acquiescing and to MrM for forethought.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had a good time.
