#NoProIroMo

MrsM
There is a huge pile of ironing in my future.

BB
Just do the damn ironing.

MrsM
It's more complicated than that.

BB
Yes, you and the ironing seem to have a deep-rooted issue.

MrsM ponders this valuable insight
and decides that June will be the month of
No Procrastination, Iron More.
She feels gloomy already.

  1. I am not in. No amount of natural joining instinct can persuade me. Viva la crumple!

  2. I have just returned from holiday and so have twice as much ironing. Luckily before I left I cleared the cupboard under the stairs so I have double the amount of space to ram the additional ironing. So instead of looking at the mahoosive pile and feeling a mild panic I just close the door.... and .... breathe......

Why do you have to do the ironing? Does no-one else in your house know how to operate an iron? Too technical for the men no doubt.

  4. If you claim to be green and environmentally friendly, you don't have to iron any more. Whip the stuff out of the machine, give it a good shake and hang it up. Plus it saves money on the electricity bill, so you could theoretically treat yourself to a little something pretty as well. CJ xx

  5. I always procrastinate on ironing, it seems to be one of those futile tasks to me! xx

  6. I'll do your ironing if you'll do my dusting... Deal?! x

  7. You had me there for a minute. I thought Leo was going to give us his Zen ironing habits.

  8. Teach him to iron! It will be good for him in the long-term!

  9. I remembered, when I saw that photo, that I had a toy iron and ironing board and I loved to iron alongside my mother - who did the sheets.

  10. Reminds me of when I had to learn all about Socratic eironeia ... I am quite good at shirts and tea towels but not allowed to practise very often.

  11. PS anybody who has had any form of military service will know how to use an iron.

It was possible to sew a crease onto one's trousers but this was generally frowned upon.

Hmm. I actually like ironing because there's not that much of it, and I watch tv shows while doing it. I think you should either give it to MrM, or else acquire a new wardrobe that doesn't ironing. June is too nice a month to be spent inside ironing.

  13. You gotta do what you gotta do so just DO IT.

My grandpa was a Carabiniere Reale, my great uncle was a member of the Guardia di Finanza (and played the clarinet in their band!) and my brother is an Italian Airforce General. I believe there's more military blood in my veins than I cared for ...

  14. Alice!!!! You mistyped!!! Surely what you meant to write was,
"No Procrastination. No iron, no more."

Just leave the washing on hangers and stop ironing. Works for me.
