It's Friday, it's sunny,
the washing is on the line
for the first time this year.
Fresh sheets on the bed,
clean kitchen floor
and a cake in the oven.
I can sit in my chair
with a mug of hot tea
and enjoy the bright light.
The visiting cat is here,
silky orange and black.
Simple pleasures indeed.
