If you ask me why I write this blog
my answer varies...
sometimes I say
that it is to record details of my life,
sometimes I say
that is an attempt
to capture the sound of the voices
of people I love,
sometimes I say
that it is a way to communicate
with family living all over the world
but I also write for you
because your generous friendship
has made this blog
a sunlit space for me
and if I can make you smile in return
that is a good enough reason.

My rule of thumb is that if your comment
is unsuitable for my children to read
it gets deleted.

Loved the pictures.....:)
ReplyDeleteA beautiful splash of sunshine to brighten our winters days....love the photos :-)
ReplyDeleteI was wondering when you'd be returning to the fold. And you brought the sun with you - how nice!
ReplyDeleteNice to see you back Alice - lovely photos as usual
ReplyDeleteI'm so happy to see you posting again. Your sunlit space always puts a smile on my face(oooh, sorry about that!)
ReplyDeleteI know this sounds a bit strange but I love pictures of doors. There's a poster sold here in Colorado Springs that is a photo mosaic of various doors found on some of the older houses in the area.
Are there any stories behind the doors in your post?
The second door, as old as it looks, seems to have a pseudo image of The Flying Spaghetti Monster above it.
It could be more proof that HE has been around for years and years and years. Any thoughts?
Ah you are back! Lovely photos. Blogging has brought me sunshine too.
ReplyDeleteYour sunlit space makes my world a sunlit space too. It is good to see you back Alice.
ReplyDeleteIt's lovely to see you back again - and you brought the sun with you!
ReplyDeleteAnd I realise I have just duplicated Ali's comment. Doh.
ReplyDeleteWell on this sunlit Monday morning I am very happy to find you in this place, the perfect accompaniment to my morning coffee.
ReplyDeleteHow fortunate you are to have friends who read your blog! Mine don't. All the more reason to cherish those who do. Keep writing - you do it so beautifully, and, unlike me, never drone on.
ReplyDeleteGood Morning Alice. Sunlit places are the best ones to be in.
ReplyDeleteGlad you're back - missed you.
ReplyDeleteHello, dear!
ReplyDelete(do I need to take anonymous outside and have a word?)
Wondered where you were- love the door pictures.
ReplyDeleteI'm smiling Alice - at your blog, the sunshine and most of all because you are back!

ReplyDeleteWhat a lovely set of photographs. I love your blog.
ReplyDeleteOh Alice, If you just felt a breeze, it was me, letting out a deep sigh thinking, She is back.
ReplyDeleteThank you, Thank you. Your insight and wit, generosity of spirit and eye for beauty are a joy and wonderment to me, and as we see, so many more as well.
I hope you are rested and refreshed. xo
Very very grateful to you, MrsM, for the joy, humor, insight, and beautiful pictures you share with us. Glad you're back (though Twitter kept me entertained, it hasn't been quite enough!).
ReplyDeleteYou're back! (Nice doors!)
ReplyDeleteI think that this must be a very subtle reference to seeing 'er in-doors next week ...
ReplyDeleteID'll be the day
Smile..
ReplyDeleteIt was worth waiting.
ReplyDeleteYou were missed.
I understand though, you were enjoying the sun you decided to share with us.
(and do I have SUN here!!!)
smiling back, we need all the sun we can get here, I'll every bit of your sunshine help xxx
ReplyDeleteThere you are : )
ReplyDeleteOh you are back! I did miss you.
ReplyDeleteOh yeah. I have missed you dear alice.
ReplyDeleteGlad you had some good time away.
I love what you share, and have a passion for doors, you just wonder where and what they lead to! You are definately a sunlit space.
ReplyDeleteHurray, you're back. I've missed your posts, they always make me smile!
ReplyDeleteThank you so much for your blog. I always love to visit.
ReplyDeleteSuch boasting is upsetting to us and our children - have you thought of that? Why do we have to think it is ok to have inplied critisism at us but not for it to be returned?
ReplyDeleteI always think it is important not to take oneself too seriously. Life's a bit short otherwise - being a bit obtuse at times is sometimes quite helpful. I have natural headstart on this of course.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful sunny day anyway !
