Chicken, Bacon and Avocado

Ali made me wonder why I love to photograph food.

Sometimes I do it to celebrate beautiful ingredients,
and sometimes to capture the memory of a meal
or as an appreciation of the artistry of a chef.

There are also times when I find it difficult
to be enthusiastic about food at all.
If I take the time to create something
attractive enough to photograph
I am more likely to eat it.

So, now you know.

  1. I've never been entirely comfortable with avocado between two slices of bread. Although your photograph does make it look more appealing than I fear it may taste.

  4. Sadly, I never ever ever seem to loose my enthusiasm for eating food. Even food that is not photo worthy.

My backside is testament to this fact.

  6. I'm the same - I sometimes remember after the pie has been demolished that it might have been blogworthy.

  9. I have so enjoyed my journey this morning, through fields of strawberries all the way to the top of the Eiffel Tower. And thankfully, I held off and did not read this post last night because at 11pm I would have been cooking up some eggs. Now that is it 9:30am, and I am completely "in the egg zone" I shall go to the kitchen. Now that I know the trick, talk kindly to the egg, I am anticipating wonderful things.

  12. On going to the US in the past I seem to remember having to take over Branston pickle as well as Jaffa cakes. I am fairly sure that Branston pickle would be a banned substance now but one might be able to ship it over in the hold I suppose. Would not want the jar to break though as that would be a bit traumatic
