Colour Saturation

The Azalea Bowl in the Valley Gardens is at its peak.

An extravagant, flamboyant flowering.

Great slicks of vibrant acrylic colour.

Fiery corridors of carmine and salmon.

Vivid cascades of fuschia and lilac.

New leaves of dazzling emerald green.

It is an intense experience...

(not suitable for the faint hearted)

and at some point you realise that...

your favourite colour is white.

    Astonishing!

PS my favourite ice cream is vanilla... that's white too.

  2. We missed this when we visited Savill Garden. Of course we probably would have been too early then. A very good reason to go back! K x

Oh my, how fabulous! You have taken me back to my childhood haunts. Many a happy hour spent at Virginia Water. Thank you, yet again, Alice.

  6. I see you've been photographing my garden again.

Yes, it looks exactly like that. Yes, it really does.

  7. That was the best punch line ever. Still chortling.

    (Pretty flowers!)

P.S. Word verif is "dishroma." Do you need to switch to some washing up liquid with a better fragrance? Or just spend some time talking about Rome? Very confusing.

  9. Eldest P would adore these. They remind me of trips to Bodnant gardens as a child. At this time of year we used to pick a long grass stalk, knot it at the end, gather up the fallen flowers and make Hawaiian garlands.

  10. I would like you all to spare a thought for MrM standing patiently (checking on the scores on his Blackberry) whilst MrsM shimmied around taking the photos for this post
