These are the macarons
that came from Ladurée
on the Champs-Élysées
in the most elegant
silver and eau de nil box.
They were packed into a suitcase
that started in Cape Town
but stopped off in Paris
before it came to stay with us.
They were so beautiful
and such an unexpected treat
that we could not bear
to eat them and so we took
them with us to see
the little girl cousins
and they were happy to help.

The pairing with those roses is beautiful.
ReplyDeleteCan I have the yellow one please, or perhaps that light pink one...then again vanilla is my all time favourite. The chocolatey one on top is looking good though. Perhaps I should just jump on a plane to Paris.
