I am afraid that you have arrived
in middle of a marital 'situation'...
MrsM plans to travel light,
she will take a capsule wardrobe
with a few carefully chosen pieces
to go from day to night
with stylish accessories.
MrM has other plans.
There will be a laptop to manage
the spreadsheet of activities.
There will be many guidebooks
(exactly how many is a secret).
There will be adaptors
and wind-up torches.
And there will be wellington boots
in case there is a high tide.
Think again, MrM.
You can choose between MrsM
and the wellington boots.
But you can't have both.

Hmmm. Wellies are pretty useful here at the moment. Just sayin'! ;)
ReplyDeleteCheck further amongst his luggage Alice. (He may well have snuck in a Swiss Army Knife and some Kendal Mint Cake).
ReplyDeletewithout wishing to be a damp squib at all I suggest that the following link may be instructive:

I am not sure if it is wellies or waders time ... although I was never a boy scout this may be an occasion to be prepared.
Worst expression to be able use with justification: I told you so.
I would be grateful for any perspectives from Italy - Paola ??
I am currently in an Opinel rather than Swiss Army knife phase of life.
ReplyDeleteHopefully we will have an Opinel in Venice - excusive pun
Look - pack an inflatable gondola just to be on the safe side Mr M.
ReplyDeleteGoogles "Opinel" and sighs with relief. If worst comes to the worst, he'll be able to carve himself a canoe and we shall be able to have Alice back safe and sound.
ReplyDeleteI may have to sing to keep spirits up ...
ReplyDeleteWith Sense AND Sensibility it seems you will have all contingencies covered! Practical AND Chic, you will surely triumph together and return with many lovely stories of your journey!
ReplyDeleteSo ... here's the situation: tomorrow is going to be BAD weather (they've named it "Halloween storm" aren't they genial!) then it's going to be partly cloudy from Thursday until Sunday when maybe the wellies could not begin to help ... RAIN of all sorts.
ReplyDeleteI hope you will be leaving before it hits. Anyway, temperatures have dropped abruptly all over Italy and it's rather cold.
Hope this helps!
MrM needs to man up. Wellies are for sissies. And the Venetians would jeer......
ReplyDeleteRes ipsa loquitur - MrsM's boots looked ubertrendy
ReplyDeleteExceptional high waters since 1923
