The Tea Party
Nicolaes Verkolje (1673-1746)
MasterM
I'm thinking of specialising in tea next term.
MrsM
Really?
Do you know anything about tea?
MasterM
No...
but I think it could be quite useful.
MissM
Why?
MasterM
I could say
"Would you like to come back
to my place
for some tea and scones."
MrsM
I can see that has possibilities.
MasterM
And then I can do some fortune telling.
MrsM
Fortune telling!!
How would that work?
MasterM
I would look at the tea leaves and say
"I see a tall, handsome man
from far away
in your future."
MissM
Right.
Just don't use tea bags.

It's nice they discuss their future endeavors.
ReplyDeleteDoes this work with coffee (lol)
ReplyDeleteIt makes perfect sense to me.
ReplyDeleteI think you should warn the local tea vendors that he is on his way so they can increase their stocks in preparation. I take it Master M already knows your secret scone recipe?
ReplyDeleteThat Master M is such a high thinker.
ReplyDeleteI like that he plans ahead.
ReplyDeleteYour son is in good company - did you know that Simon Schama had success at university in attracting young ladies to his rooms by cooking them delicious offerings? Scones are delicious with just butter and jam but for an altogther more heightened experience, always serve with clotted cream. A winning strategy! Good luck to him!
ReplyDeleteSensible boy. Fortune telling just doesn't have the same lecherous overtones of etchings......
ReplyDeleteHistory repeats itself - I was entwined or ensnared by MrsM's collection of Twinings looseleaf tins - very rapidly converted onto PG Tips afterwards. Back on Twinings tea bags though so full circle again
ReplyDeleteEducation is the key to the future. It's good to know that he is choosing a specialised study that will bring him the brightest prospects.
ReplyDelete... I would put a warning out in the university campus....
ReplyDeleteThat boy will definitely go far - if only for sheer cheek!
