gratitude

Dear Friends,

We take a risk, don't we, when we share our hopes and fears. This is true in every situation - even with people who know us best - because there might be misunderstandings or hurtful things said. I thought for a long time before I posted yesterday asking myself if it was appropriate to share things which some people would consider to be private. I have never pretended to share every aspect of our lives because there are times when that could be intrusive to the people around me. On the other hand Thomas has always been very supportive of this blog and being honest felt the right thing to do so I took the risk.

I need not have worried because your comments were so compassionate, thoughtful and caring. The words reached out to me and my family and comforted us all. We are so very grateful to you for your kindness.

Thank you, thank you.

  3. When you open yourself up, it is to love as well as to hurt. I'm glad you could speak if it helped even a tiny bit in a stressful time.

  4. Every one of us has been through what you are going through, or will go through it some time. It is hard. You will come through it. In the meantime I am glad that the thoughts and good wishes may help support and sustain you. I have read your blog for a while and never posted. It is good to have a chance to say 'thank you' in a small way.

  5. I'm a lapsed reader (mainly due to having my first child in 2010!) but finally re-found you yesterday.

I'm so sorry to hear about Thomas' illness. My thoughts are with you and the whole family at this time. x

  7. You have been so kind and caring to me over the last few years (and I suspect to many others who read here), so I'm glad we can give you some support and comfort and virtual, if not real life, hugs at a very hard time. You're all in my thoughts.

  9. It's good to share and take a risk. Knowing that he waits in Jesus'arms, to then carry him through, gives us reassurance for us all.

  13. It is lovely to think that some words across the wires have given you some comfort at a really difficult time. I do hope Thomas is making some improvement. Hugs to you all.

  14. Alice; as Toffeeapple says, bloggers are generally well-meant people. In all my years of blogging, I think I've only had one comment EVER that was intentionally unkind. Smooches all around, and best wishes for Thomas.
