This is where I work:
Carlton House Terrace.
Isn't it beautiful?
Stand in front of it...
Buckingham Palace is to your right,
Trafalgar Square to your left,
and St. James's Park in front of you.
Behind you is Pall Mall, Haymarket
and Lower Regent Street.
This is the heart of London
so you never know who you will see.
Sir Trevor Nunn sat opposite me
in the sandwich shop today.
I was very embarrassed because
he realised that I recognised him.
If only he knew how unusual that is.

I can only dream about being there..and wish and wish and wish.
ReplyDeleteForsooth, yonder Nunn is no monk ...
ReplyDeletethe golden glow on the building is magical, what a lucky lady you are, and Mr. Nunn as well - it's all just too much
ReplyDeleteI'd be thrilled to go to work every day!
ReplyDeleteDelightful... you'll have to pop in to see me if I'm at the M|all galleries again next summer! It's a long time since we've had a coffee.
ReplyDeleteSwapping geographers for scientists?
ReplyDeleteIs that the Royal Society? If so, what a coincidence! I have to be there one day next week to dish out badges etc for a meeting there! Never been there before, so looking forward to it...plus it gets me out of my office for a few hours! :o)
ReplyDeleteSo beautiful and I'm so impressed. Now I see why something familiar on your desk was needed. I would have needed at least a stapler too I think to hold my wits together. cath
ReplyDeleteI am sighing.
ReplyDeleteAnd some people are Nashing their teeth ...
ReplyDeleteIs it as beautiful on the inside?
ReplyDeleteWow!
ReplyDeleteOh My! How beautiful that is. Work is work - but it can be so inspiring having a lovely place to be while you are doing it.
