It is a quiet Sunday morning.
There is an apple cake in the oven
and leek soup for lunch.
I will wash the kitchen floor
and listen to Trollope while I iron.
After lunch we will go out to walk
through the autumn leaves.
When it is dark I will draw the curtains,
light the candles and knit for a while.
The first hellebore flowers have appeared.
I thought you would like to know that.

Ironing again?!
ReplyDeleteOh yes. It is the never-ending battle.
DeleteYou were so right in thinking that. cath
ReplyDeleteIt is outside my back door and catches the early morning light. I will have more in pots next year - they are delightful.
DeletePretty Hellebore. Ironing?!
ReplyDeleteYou know me and my ironing board - practically inseparable.
DeleteI love how you can you make washing the floor and ironing sound idyllic
ReplyDeleteNot sure that scrubbing the floor is idyllic - perhaps I should report myself under the Sales Description Act.
DeleteI am in a passionate relationship with Anthony at the moment - do not distract me.
ReplyDeleteI'd like to stop in but I have ironing as well.
ReplyDeleteAwesome - you can do mine as well because I got bored after one shirt.
DeleteSeems like we were all ironing at the same time.
ReplyDeleteWe're not alone!
Yes - but you are ironing in POSITANO which is much more exotic than my tiny kitchen.
DeleteI love this time of year.
