Saturday Afternoon

Most of my photographs are taken
to illustrate posts that I plan to write

but, occasionally, I just capture images
because they make me smile
and today was such a day.

There is no record of the Eggs Benedict
that MrM had for lunch
or the delicious grape coloured
cashmere rollneck that I nearly bought
or MissM, head bowed over a selection
of beautiful fountain pens.

but when I look at these photos
those moments are there too
and I can see them in my mind's eye

and I can hear the musician
who sang on the edge of the market square
and created a pool of silence
in a busy world.

  1. Time and time again, I am enthralled.

  2. Where is this Alice? It looks so familiar. You photos are as intriguing and alluring as ever.

Anglesey Abbey is 10 minutes from my house. Just let me know when.

  3. Oh, I know just where that is. And my Dad was playing with his band there last Saturday as part of the festival.

Looks like you had a good day.

  4. O my gosh! I can taste those goreous figs!!

  5. I would love to know the story behind those hats...

  6. Beautiful images to capture the imagination.

  7. I think I know where that is - unless it's somewhere very similar - and I wonder whether I have guessed where you went for lunch ...

  8. Love the photo with the leaves and the one with the hats - enchanting photography MrsM - up to your usual standard :o)

  9. Everyone except me seems to know where you are. Then again Ali does have a degree in geography! K x

  10. Um, wherever that is, those figs do not come from, do they?
    Love the umbrella shot.

  11. What a treat to return from my long weekend away to two lovely posts. I have no idea where that is but it looks beautiful. And figs are such a refreshing change from pumpkins at this time of year aren't they?

  12. I love that umbrella photo

  13. Those photos are fantastic; up there with your best.

  14. Beautiful photos! I love the second it is my favorite.
