Christmas : Pause

Three Kings
Eric Gill

Last night I stood on the landing
and realised that all four of us
were sleeping under the same roof
for the first time for nearly a year
and at that moment I knew
I already had everything
I wanted for Christmas.

I wish you all safe journeys,
warm homes and a peaceful Christmas.

This is relieving because the news are SCARY to say the least.
So I am glad to no end you are all safe, warm and happy under the same roof.
Have a Merry Christmas!

Happy Christmas, Alice! I'm glad you are all together again.

We're all here too. Unfortunately it isn't where we are meant to be, but various fluey coldy horrible bugs have knocked the wheels off our Christmas. Bah, humbug.

That is the best Christmas present any mother could wish for. Enjoy x

How lovely! Best wishes to you all for a happy holiday :)

I thought of you today, Alice, when I took a fresh cranberry cobbler out of the oven...I really must get my skates on and learn to make that butter brandy - seems like a perfect companion piece to the sweet/tartness of cranberries!

It's a wonderful feeling, isn't it, to realise that you have everything you want, right here? I felt like that when the Lovely Son managed to get a train home, and my sick dog got better; no delays in post, or forgotten bits of shopping mattered in the least.

Have a very happy Christmas. x
