The New Arrival

"What is this?"
says MrM,
scandalised.

MrsM sighs.

MissM who is completely simpatico
(and has heard MrM complaining about the flowery china)
says,
respectfully,

"It is The Man-Mug".

  1. 29 words, if I counted correctly. 29 words and I have a vivid picture of your kitchen, you three, and the slight bewilderment I feel MrM. was experiencing. It really does not take much to jolt their slats, does it? Oh, and remember I have seen nothing but the lovely MissM.

  2. It looks sure to put hairs on the chest of any man sipping warm tea...

  3. MrM doesn't know me so I can say this with just a little fear: that mug is ruining all your beautiful table and gorgeous china.
    (Sorry MrM!)

  4. Surely as it boasts (part of) a Union Jack Mr.M would simply drink his tea as a patriotic duty?

  5. And now you must get him a Man Bag.

  10. with reference to the first comment MrsM can jolt my slats any time.

I am pleased to note that the Union Flag is the right way up on the mug - not the side shown in the photo though

  11. To MrM, ahhh, a good slat jolt...
And to the Mrs., I have a little one and her husband to be who love all thing British and mugs. Might you share the details?

  12. At least MrM will use the man-mug. My husband calls all flowery mugs 'that awful 1950's china', which bewilders me and daughter as he otherwise extols 1950's values and memories. We provide him with plain white mugs for coffee, but he'll only drink tea out of a cup and saucer! Now who's living in the 1950s?

  13. I do wonder sometimes...are the bedsheets all flowery too?
