Lunch on Saturday

For the first time in three weeks
I was well enough
to go to to the supermarket
on Saturday morning.

Fresh oranges for the fruit bowl!

Bread from the bakery!

Ripe brie and tomatoes!

Spring Flowers!

It was worth going to bed at 7.30 on Friday evening.

  1. All looks yummy. Perhaps you can assure me, as I sit here in the throes of a whopping head cold, that all is not lost and my to-do list will wait. Even if the upcoming week contains five worship services and my firstborn's birthday...

  4. ... that feeling when you recover from flu or a virus and you feel happy and strong and ready to GO.
Nice. And you showed it with those beautiful tulips.

  5. The sight of those oranges is enough to fill me with health! Vitamin C aplenty.

    Glad you are feeling livlier.

  7. Glad you are feeling better. What an awful season for sickness. (I'm on my 3rd week of being down, first strep and now a cold.)

The beauty you surround yourself with will make you feel better quickly.

    Enjoy!

  8. You must be feeling better talking about all that food - looks yummy, especially the brie. I'm struggling with the 'lost hour' today so I shall be early to bed tonight!

  10. I'm glad you're feeling better now, though I must say I NEVER feel up to facing the supernarket ona Saturday morning.

I must echo Tess' sentiments as well - do take care of yourself.

  13. That looks like a very restorative spread. How fitting to be reclaiming life's simple pleasures.

  14. I echo your sentiments about Elspeth Thompson, Alice. Depression is such a cruel illness and so difficult for the on-looker to understand.

On a lighter note - so pleased you are feeling better and can shop for food with enjoyment once again!

  16. I am really behind on my blog reading and so sorry to hear you have been poorly whilst I haven't been paying attention.

Hope you're feeling much better now and that the Saturday morning trip to the supermarket hasn't sapped your strength again.
